Cancer survivors are given VIP treatment at the Lake Region Relay for Life. The welcome starts with a 'Hands of Hope' celebration. At the reception, survivors are treated to Scooter's Stir Fry & Salmon Chowder and Cake & Coffee. Each survivor that registers at the relay receives a special survivor designation t-shirt.
Each year, survivors sign the Hands of Hope quilts, that are hung up year, after year, to recognize the years of fighting and surviving that they have done.
The relay is kicked off with an extremely memorable survivors lap. All the teams line up around the track and cheer on the survivors as they make the first lap. This represents the steps we take during relay to raise money and awareness of cancer. The steps we take to fight cancer. |
