Luminaria

The Luminaria Ceremony is one of the most inspirational moments of the Relay For Life. When the sun goes down, thousands of luminaria light up the night to remember and honor those lost to cancer, those fighting cancer and those who have beat cancer. This ceremony of light symbolizes the hope and perseverance with which we continue to fight.

There is nothing more breathtaking than the luminary ceremony. It is dusk outside. The luminary bags have been placed, bag to bag, from one end of Roosevelt Park to the top hill behind the stoplights on College Drive. The candles inside are lit and shining bright. Providing love, hope and courage to us all. It is a devine sight to behold and the thousands of luminaries will bring light to even the darkest places.

Please join us for the Luminary Ceremony on Friday, June 6th at 8:30pm.

As part of the Relay, we are extending the opportunity to all, to purchase a luminaria in honor of your loved ones. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
